PROGRAM NUTRITION & LIFESTYLE LIKE YOU DO TRAINING

If you have coached for any period of time, you probably agree getting clients to commit to the training in the gym is the easy part. After all, it likely only consumes one hour of their day, three to five days a week. It’s the other 23 hours of the day—where even bigger changes need to be made—that’s the real challenge.

Getting your clients to make lasting lifestyle changes is absolutely the biggest challenge you face as a coach. But if you don’t support your clients to build healthy daily habits, exercise is just a bandaid.

Enter the CoachRx Lifestyle feature: a habit-based approach to behavior and nutrition that makes it simpler than ever for your clients.

WHAT IS THE LIFESTYLE FEATURE?

With the Lifestyle planning feature, you can prescribe personalized daily to-dos ranging from water intake to protein goals to their amount of sleep.

The client receives a daily Lifestyle To-Do - a Yes or No Rx which they can mark off based on whether or not they completed the action. In addition to checking it off, they can leave you additional comments and upload relevant photos or videos.

The intention of each Lifestyle Rx is not for your client to track it forever, but to help them establish a new behavior and reinforce it until it becomes a habit.

HOW TO USE LIFESTYLE Rx

Designing lifestyle plans is not meant to be a week-to-week effort on your part. Look at designing lifestyle plans as creating great habits with your clients. Don’t get this confused as a “set it and forget it” task in CoachRx. Rather, set it, check in on it weekly, and refine at each monthly consultation.
Setting lifestyle plans is easy and only takes about 60 seconds.

Designing Your First Lifestyle Plan

  1. Ensure you have the lifestyle type set in your Index
  2. Click the lifestyle icon (the broccoli) in the sidebar from the client’s calendar
  3. Click Add Plan
  4. Create the start date and length of plan in weeks.
  5. Add the prescription, type, description, and notification preference. Repeat if there are multiple prescriptions.
  6. Save Rx

For example:

  • At the monthly consultation, you determine that your client needs to focus on eating protein at each meal.
  • You create a 4-week lifestyle plan with the following prescription:
Type - Nutrition
Prescription - Protein
Description - Eat a palm-sized serving of protein at breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Days - Monday-Sunday
Notification Time - 7 PM
  • The client marks “Yes” daily and can leave you a note with the protein source they choose for each meal.

You can also set one-off lifestyle Rx’s from the calendar. These are for those truly one-off instances you may encounter, e.g., drink 3/4 of your bodyweight in ounces Saturday prior to your cross country flight.

6 TIPS TO DESIGN THE BEST LIFESTYLE Rx

  1. Customize your Lifestyle Types to match your coaching style (you can even add personalized videos to educate your clients on the specific behavior).
  2. Monitor Lifestyle compliance % on your Client List
  3. Click the dumbbell icon at the top right of the client calendar to switch to Lifestyle view (and click the broccoli icon to switch back) for a quick overview.
  4. Limit yourself to a maximum of 3 Lifestyle Rx’s per client to avoid overwhelm.
  5. Prioritize the lowest hanging fruit first and avoid overprescribing—if your client is sleeping 5 hours a night and low on water then start there before prescribing macros or pre-workout nutrition!
  6. Update client plans on a monthly basis (use their monthly consultation to discuss the previous month and set new Rx’s).

HOW IT HELPS YOUR CLIENTS

Your clients hire you because they want to achieve their fitness goals and do so in the best way possible. The CoachRx Lifestyle feature helps you deliver on this.

By focusing on building healthy daily habits, the feature provides clients with a simple and personalized approach to behavior and nutrition. Through daily Lifestyle To-Do's, clients can establish new habits and reinforce them until they become part of their lifestyle. This leads to a long-term and sustainable approach to health and wellness, resulting in better outcomes for clients. By tracking progress and setting goals, clients can stay motivated and on track with their healthy lifestyle goals.

With the support and guidance of a professional coach combined with this effective tracking tool, clients can develop a healthy and balanced approach to nutrition, exercise, and overall well-being that will last a lifetime.

WHY IT’S BETTER THAN EVERYTHING ELSE ON THE MARKET

Of all the things you could do to help your clients achieve their goals, it can be tempting to overcomplicate things. But in our experience, oftentimes the simplest solution is the best. This is the approach that the CoachRx Lifestyle feature was built on. Your clients need a quick and easy way to develop consistency and create habits out of the lifestyle behaviors that you, their coach, identify as priorities.

Part of what makes the feature so simple to use is the fact that your clients receive their exercise and lifestyle Rx in one app. This removes the barrier of opening another tracking app and reinforces the symbiotic relationship between exercise and lifestyle.

Lastly, the CoachRx Lifestyle feature gives you and your clients a window into compliance across lifestyle behaviors. The most underrated factor in lasting results is consistency over time, and there is no hiding from the Lifestyle Rx percentage that displays both for the coach and the client to see.
